This village has a very old tradition in sheep cheese making. During the second half of the 15th century and the 16th century the trade fairs convert Villalón into one of the financial markets of Europe. The trade fair was one of the principal financial markets of Europe as all exchange operations with the big foreign markets were done in the fair and the money changers had their businesses installed there. In this moment Villalon fair is the most important local fair in this part of Valladolid province and its population participate in its preparation, dressed with typical costume like 15 th century. In this weekend, this fair is visited for 12.000 persons and this event is developed in historical and principal village´s square and streets.

Villalon de Campos is located in the center of Castilla-León region, to 65 km to the north of Valladolid city and 50 Km from Valladolid airport. From this airport, Ryanair has direct flights to London (Stansted airport) and Brussels (Charleroi airport).
