Consorcio EDER – Development Estrategies from the Ribera of Navarre – consist of 35 villages of the Region “Ribera de Navarra” and the main Economic and Social Organizations.
The Region of Navarre is placed in the North of Spain.
The great variety geomorphologic, bioclimatic and human of Navarre it is summarized traditionally in three regions from the North to the South: Montaña (Mountain), Zona Media (Middle Zone) and Ribera (Bank).
The Ribera of Navarre, is to the South of the Province.
The region of the Ribera of Navarre has a total area of 2.543,09 km.
When we talk about Ribera of Navarre, we do reference to Culture, Nature, Festivities and Good Gastronomy.
Talking in a Cultural level, the visitor can bump with different Buildings built in various styles: Cistercian Monasteries, Romance and Gothic Churches and the Cathedral of the Capital (Tudela), parish churches Renaissance, religious Buildings and civil Buildings from the baroque style, etc.
Ribera of Navarre set up the most dried zone from the region of Navarre. The dryness is one of the identifying characteristic. In contrast, the Ribera of Navarre has a big rivers which come from the Cantabrian (Ebro), Pyrenean (Arga, Ega and Aragon) and Iberian (Alhama and Queiles) systems.
Around this rivers have been created several itineraries to do by bicycle, by car, on foot, with different landscapes full of colours, flora and fauna.
Our Territory is a land which surprises us with rich and several traditions. To discover our Festivities is to sink into the happiness. From July to September, people left their houses and live the party in the street.
Ribera of Navarre is a land with a recognised Gastronomy. Legumes, special lamp (lamp from the region), the best rosé and red wines (with a D.O. Navarre), without forget the sweet muscatels, hunting (meet), etc. Our region is a meeting with Arabic tradition, which is so present in our cookery: the “cafareles” , the nougat “alaju”, and the “almojabana”.
The best period to visit our region is spring or autumn, because in summer the temperature is too hot and in winter is too cold.
